Week 1 Term 3

I'm so glad to be back at school! This term we have started algebra. So far we have learnt about number patterns and finding the rule. The answer would be something like n x 5 -2, but algebra doesn't like multiplying signs, so you leave it out. Algebra also likes to have the number first not the letter, so the full answer would be 5n-2. In tech arts we have started fabric. On Tuesday we made a tennis ball, and the two colours I chose were black and green. We had to put them in a T shape and then always had to sew up through the bottom. All the sides had to be touching so it would end up like a cup. We then had to keep sewing until we had a three finger space, and then turn it inside out. I put stuffing in mine and then ladder stitched my hole. Overall I got a three for my stitching, and another three for my shape. We are doing another thing in class called readers theatre, and you have to say this little play in front of everyone. I'm doing one with six other people and the script is called 'Can you see what I Feel'. We are also starting persuasive writing. The two topics we got to choose out of were cats are better pets than dogs, or dogs are better pets than cats. I have two dogs and four cats so I did eenee meenie miney mo, and I ended up doing cats are better pets than dogs. Yesterday, in French, we learnt our numbers from 10-20 and did some math equations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. It was quite difficult but I did some of them without my book and got them all right in the end.

Week 11 Term 2

Probability tree diagrams
NOOO!!! It's the last week of the term! This week I have learnt about probability/chance, how to determine the probability of all things possible, and how to find the experimental chance. Probability is when you're giving an answer like possible, impossible, or maybe, and determining the probability is writing them as fractions, and experimental chance is when you're giving a fraction with more than one dice and finding how many possibilities there are of that number. I also learnt how to use probability tree diagrams, and you use them by finding all possible out comes. Yesterday I had the gym sport festival, and I have to write a report about it. Three people came first, one person came second, and one person came third from our school. Last week Belmont got the sports shield. We won four sports, and Belmont won seven sports. I'm so looking forward to next term.
